Sunday played host to a well drilled Midhurst. After the first 75 minutes of warm up, sweat and press ups, it was time to get down to action. The games would be a tale of two halfs. Midhurst brought 13 players down for this tie, facing Evie, Elliott, Rory, Jude, Silus, Luke, Oscar, Charlie and Johnny. Due to numbers it was 7 a side, and continuous rugby.

The first game (half) saw Midhurst up for this, taking an early lead. There was plenty of tagging, support play and they dominated the midfield. Bognor tried to come back but no to avail, eventually losing 5-2. After a brief team talk at half time, followed by some liquid refreshment, saw a rejuvenised Bognor. The scores were back to 0 and it was a new game.

Bognor came leaping out of there blocks after the starting whistle, and raced into a 3 - 0 lead. Midhurst tried to pull it back but Bognor with a new lease of life were dominant in the midfield. Bognor missed a good couple of chances, Rory was clean through only to some how fall just before the try line. This is still as mystery to all who watched, Luke was like a whippet down the lines, Jude caught one in the face, but just shrugged it off, Johnny, Charlie and Oscar were everywhere over the playing field, Silus and Elliott were strong in defence and Evie was like a work horse around the park, thus leading to a 5 -2 victory.

Overall the honours were shared with great team efforts from both sides, Evie being named Player of the Day by Midhurst. A great mornings rugby witnessed by all players/parents on the side lines, and both Paul (Midhurst Coach) and I enjoyed the mornings play, followed by hot dogs all round for the kids.
