Rugby thrives on the foundations of teamwork, mutual respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.
Based on these foundations, Bognor RFC has built an enviable reputation as a warm, welcoming club both on and off the field. A reputation that is testament to the tremendous efforts of every member.
Unfortunately, clubs across the country have been reminded that there is a worrying pattern of unacceptable behaviour currently creeping into the game we love.
At this halfway point in the season, I thought it was a good time to take the opportunity to remind members that it is the responsibility of all members, coaches, players and spectators from minis to seniors to actively ensure that our reputation as a welcoming, friendly club is maintained.
As a club we have a zero tolerance of poor behaviour including abuse of any kind, whether directed at match officials, opposition or spectators.
Clearly, we are all accountable for our own actions, but to assist with this aim we would also ask that if you become aware of any unacceptable behaviour, it is reported to a committee member. Any poor behaviour will be dealt with according to our disciplinary processes.
Thank you for your continued support.
